Let us celebrate the coming of Spring together!!!
Hello Spring CAL was designed thinking of those people new to mosaic crochet as well as those who are regular mosaic crochet makers. Everybody can join despite their crochet skills. It is a very relaxing design.
We will crochet a cosy blanket using overlay mosaic crochet technique, nice to snuggle under or to gift to someone special. It is so darling that all princesses around the world would love to have one. You can play with the patterns or repeats and create other house decor itens, if you prefer.
Hello Spring has 11 different patterns.
Introduction File with all CAL information is already available to download. First part will be launched on 21 of March (Monday, around 2 o´clock in the afternoon, UK time).
Pattern is written in English (US Terms) and has pictures to guide you through every row and round. It has charts for every one of the 11 patterns as well as a chart for the border. However, there will be a print friendly version without pictures, if you don’t need to follow them.
There are also a Spanish version (translation made by Julia Veloso) and a French version (translation made by Valérie VB). Besides there will also be available a version for left-handed crocheters, thanks to Jayne Kneale and Heather Vold.
As my previous mosaic CAL - Geometrics CAL and Winter Wonderland CAL - this pattern is also great to help you reduce your yarn stash. Colourful blankets will be awesome.
CAL is hosted in OneSkeinofLove Crochet group, on Facebook. You are so very welcome to join, share your progress or doubts. The group is a a very welcoming and helpful one.
Materials for the CAL
In my sample I used Stylecraft Special DK yarn and a 4mm hook. You are free to use whatever yarn and hook you want, and all the colours you want. It is all up to you.
Finishing Size
My blanket ended up with a size of 110 cm x 148 cm (43.3” x 58.2”), approximately. You can customize the size of your blanket by adding or decreasing repeats of the pattern, but keep in mind that this will affect the amount of yarn required.
