Yarn Mrs. Crosby Steamer Trunk (100% superwash Merino wool; 164 yd 150 m/3 1/2 oz 100 g): Great-tailed Grackle, 9 (10, 11, 13, 14, 15) skeins.

Needles Size 4 (3.5 mm): 24–36” circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Size 6 (4 mm): 24–36” cir and set of dpn. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

NOTES

• This pullover is worked from the top down. The right half of the back neckband is worked first, beginning with a provisional cast-on. Then stitches for the left half of the back neckband are worked from the provisional cast-on. Stitches are then picked up along the back neckband and additional stitches are cast on at each side for the back shoulders. The shoulders are shaped with short-rows, then the back is worked flat to the underarm. Stitches for the fronts are picked up from the back shoulders, and the fronts are worked to the underarm while shaping the diagonal right front neckline. After joining the front and back, the body is worked in the round. Sleeve stitches are picked up around the armholes; the sleeve cap is shaped with short-rows, and then the sleeves are worked in the round.

• When working the diagonal rib patterns in the round, knit all even-numbered rounds.

• Slip stitches purlwise with yarn at wrong side of work.

• When shaping the sleeve cap with short rows, do not work the wraps together with the wrapped stitches.
