PATTERN NOTES
The Hat Body is worked in the round from the bottom up to the crown. Front and Back Flaps are knit down from the cast-on edge of the Hat Body. The vertical plaid lines are worked after the piece is finished.
The purl columns serve two purposes: they form “reminder” lines for where the slip-stitch crochet chains go. They also allow the slip-stitch chains to “nest,” blending almost seamlessly into the rest of the fabric.
