Hippo and Elephant are best friends and love to lounge around. Knitted predominantly in stockinette with increases and decreases shaping, both toys have floppy legs and little i-cord tails.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the toys are knitted in acrylic DK yarn on single pointed needles (not in the round), and the i-cord tails are worked on two DPNs.

NEEDLES
A pair each of 3.5mm single pointed knitting needles and DPNs (US 4)

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/280m skein in grey.

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, and buttons for eyes.

SIZES
One size only - The hippo is 22cm long when lying down, and the elephant 28cm long (with the trunk outstretched).

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
