Gauge: 22 sts & 30 rows = 10cm / 4” over St st worked flat on 3.25mm needles, after blocking.Needles: 3.25 mm / US 3 circular needle, 80cm / 32” length and 40cm / 16” length.

Note: Begin the yoke using shorter needles then change to longer needles as the circumference increases.
Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.

Notions: 5 stitch markers (including one unique marker for beg of row/round), tapestry needle

Notes: Hoopoe is worked from the top down. First the collar is worked in the round in half-twisted rib; then the yoke begins with raglan increases, knitted flat in back-and-forth rounds with intarsia at the sleeves. At the end of the yoke, the sleeves are cast off and the body is worked in one piece. Finally, the front and back hems are worked separately in twisted rib.
