Hugs and Kisses is knitted from the top down.
The back yoke begins with sections of lace pattern and stockinette, with increases worked on each side of every row. When the full width has been reached, continue straight down to the bottom of the armhole.
Pick up stitches along the shoulders of the back piece and knit each side of the neck separately with decreases and increases to shape the neckline. Then gather the front pieces and work straight down to the bottom of the armhole, where the front and back pieces are assembled. Then work the body in the round and end
with a rib edge that is bound off with an Italian bind-off.
Pick up and knit stitches along the armholes and knit the sleeves in the round and finish with a rib edge and Italian bind-off.
Finally, pick up and knit stitches along the neck opening, for the neckline. This is also knitted in rib and bound off using an Italian bind-off.
