Island Eyelet
In the warmer months, a light tee is part of my daily wardrobe; and, of course, the wardrobe needs constant updating. The design of this tee is light and airy, knitted with a wool/silk blend that will breath easily to keep me cool. The silk allows for a a bit more drape, which I like in a summer tee.
Island Islet Tee is worked from side to side with the eyelet pattern worked just on the back. Knitting begins with the left sleeve, then stitches are cast on for the front and the back, and the piece is worked flat to the neck opening. At the neck, the front and back are worked separately to create the opening for the head. The front and back are rejoined and the piece is completed with bound-off stitches and ends with the right sleeve. The piece is essentially folded in half and the side seams are joined. The top is finished with a neck trim.
