Ravelry version of this pattern has been rewritten to correct all of the errata in the magazine version. Charts have also been included for the head and body which are constructed using short rows (no intarsia in this pattern).

Requirements for DK version:
 150 yards black DK
 110 yards white DK
 40 yards orange DK
 10 yards yellow DK
 US 4/ 3.5mm double point needles
 US 3/ 3.25mm double point needles
(The puffin will be about 11 inches tall)

Requirements for Aran version (as published in Knit Now):
 160 yards black DK
 110 yards white DK
 75 yards orange DK
 10 yards yellow DK
 US 6/ 4mm double point needles
 US 2.5/ 3mm double point needles
(The puffin will be about 13 inches tall)

In the beak, after Rnd 6 it should be “Rep the last 5 rnds 3 more times. 38 sts”.

In the body, after Row 141 it should be “Repeat rows 130 – 141 two more times.
