Järvimaa
This cardigan is a fresh take on Fiona Alice’s Lakeland, originally published in Laine Issue 4 in 2018. Now based in Helsinki, Fiona revisits the design as Järvimää — the Finnish translation of Lakeland — maintaining a clear connection to the original.
Järvimaa is a top-down raglan cardigan featuring the signature scallop pattern on the fronts, here worked upside down for a familiar yet refreshed look. The back and sleeves are kept simple in stockinette, while twisted rib details highlight the raglan lines, side seams and sleeves, and finish the hems, cuffs, collar and button bands.

NOTES
This raglan cardigan is worked from the top down. The button bands are picked up after the body and sleeves are finished. The two fronts feature the same scallop pattern originally used on the pullover. This time, the scallop pattern is worked upside down but still yields a similar effect. The sleeves and back are worked in Stockinette Stitch. The body is worked flat on circular needles. After stitches for sleeves are picked up, the sleeves are worked in the round using the Magic Loop method. Twisted ribbing decorates the hem, collar, cuffs and button bands.
