Jennie Atkinson has used two different slip stitch patterns to create woven-effect fabrics for her bag and hat set. The long strap and sides of the bag are worked in a single-colour pattern called fabric stitch, while the main body and flap of the bag are knitted in a three-colour tweed pattern. This is also used to form a wide band around the hat; the crown and ribbed brim are worked in a single colour.
