“Josephine” is a lovely and feminine crescent shaped shawl, knit in a heavenly soft heavy lace from Squoosh Fibrearts.

The intricate border is knit sideways and frames simple stocking stitch body. The piece is finished off with delicate loop edge created using crochet hook.

The size given requires just under 1 skein (521m/570 yards) of heavy lace shown here in “Winterfell” colour. The pattern would also work well in sock yarn (2 skeins of 400 yards will be enough and if knit to instructions will create slightly larger shawl).

“Josephine” has been created for intermediate and advanced knitters. Both border and body use short row technique. The pattern is written and charted.

Big thank you to Susan susanlondon for the collaboration in publishing this pattern, Kristin Perers for beautiful photography and Rachel Knittingtastic for tech editing.
