The Kaiku cardigan is an easy and quick lace-knit
project without shaping. The cardigan is worked
top-down, starting with the back, which is knitted
flat to the underarm. The front piece stitches are
picked up from the garter stitch cast-on edge
of the back and knitted flat to the underarm. The
body is formed by joining the front and back
pieces, and it is knitted flat as one piece. The
sleeve stitches are picked up from the garter
stitch edge and knitted in the round.
The design is loose-fitting and drapes beautifully.
You can extend the hem length if desired, but
ensure you have extra yarn for this modification.
Choose a size with approximately 30–40 cm of
positive ease; the cardigan shown in the photos is
size 3 with 40 cm of ease.
