Kanso | 簡素
This pattern is part of Wabi-Sabi, The Beauty of Artisanally Made Yarns, published by Nomad noos.
Kanso meaning simplicity or purity is associated with the minimalist tendencies of modern architecture and interior design. In the kanso concept, beauty and visual elegance are achieved by elimination and omission.
Kanso is a modified dropped-shoulder cardigan, worked in Sand stitch with two strands of yarn held together throughout. The body is worked back and forth in one piece from the bottom to the underarm, and then the fronts and back are worked separately.
It is a relaxed garment for lounging at home, yet simple and elegant enough for going out.
