Kingsbridge Legwarmers
Superbly easy legwarmers, designed and knit 30 years ago by Audrey Burrell, a dedicated and expert knitter, confidante and friend.
Pattern has instructions for knitting flat and in the round, and uses remnant yarn in the very beautiful shades of Shetland’s coast and moors.
If you’re a beginning knitter, these are a satisfying first project, and experienced knitters will love their simplicity. It’s knit-in-public project, one for your knitting group or these snowy days when public transport is taking a long time to get you home.
Kingsbridge is a pretty little market town on the edge of a tidal estuary in the South Hams district of Devon, on the south coast of England. It was Audrey’s favourite place, very sleepy in winter, and is always worth a visit, whether or not you do so wearing her lovely legwarmers.
