This pattern uses the crossed double crochet stitch, one of my favorite stitches. It may seem a little awkward at first but it is worth it. Those little Xs are a great design detail. Make sure you take the time to count the stitches on the half double crochet rounds. If you don’t have the 72 stitches the pattern calls for you’ll create headaches on the crossed double rows.

This pattern also works well with Patons Classic wool or any worsted weight yarn.
