Using a unique combination of single and half-double crochet stitches, these gloves have a cuff design that looks very much like knitted stockinette stitch. (Also known as the “Camel Stitch” or “hump stitch”). Add a button for an accent or leave the cuff as is to show off the knit look design. The knit look stitch is repeated at the top of the glove as well.

The pattern uses the ‘chain-less’ or ‘foundation’ technique at the beginning of the cuff and when creating the thumb opening. There are several on-line videos available if you are not familiar with this method.

Other stitches used are slip stitches, single crochet, extended single crochet, and half-double crochets as well as the single crochet “camel stitch” used to create the knit look stitches. “Camel stitch” is explained in the pattern and a link to how-to pictures on my website is also included.
