Kontula
CONSTRUCTION OF THE DESIGN
The slipover is worked bottom up flat. You begin by working from the hem ribbing and then start the intarsia pattern for the body. After the intarsia pattern is done, you continue working toward the underarm, incorporating decreases to shape the armholes.
For the front panel, the neckline is shaped with binding off stitches and decreases. Once the neckline shaping is complete, you continue working the front panels in Stockinette Stitch towards the shoulders, including shaping for shoulders. The back panel is worked in Stockinette Stitch towards the back neck with shaping on the shoulders.
After completing the front and back panel, the pieces are then joined by seaming the shoulders and sides of the body together. Lastly, you will work the ribbing for the neckline and the armholes in the round. The neckline ribbing is double-folded and hand sewn.
