Rather than using a marled yarn, the Lake Geneva Sweater’s look is created by holding two strands of the same yarn in different colors together throughout. The shorter row gauge of the garter stitch creates the shoulder slope.

Yarn Cascade Yarns Sorata (70% baby llama, 30% silk; 437 yd/3½ oz): #4 charcoal (dark gray; A) and #3 silver (light gray; B), 2 (3, 3, 3, 4, 4) skeins each.

Needles Sizes 7 (4.5 mm) and 8 (5 mm): 24” circular and set of double-pointed. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Gauge 19 sts and 26 rows = 4” in St st with 2 strands held tog on larger needles; 19 sts and 32 rows = 4” in garter st with 2 strands held tog on larger needles.

Notes This pullover is worked from the top down. The back is worked separately back and forth to the underarms and the stitches are placed on holders. Stitches for each front are picked up along the back shoulders and increased for the neck, then each front is worked to the underarms. The three pieces are then joined and worked in the round to the lower edge. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up around the armhole and the sleeves are worked from the top down in the round.
