As I designed this shawl, I kept singing a shawl-inspired version of Al Green’s Let’s Stay Together, and once the shawl was done, I could not get it out of my mind. Hence the Let’s Stitch Together Shawl, inspired by the dyer who provided the yarn (and love), Stitch Together Studios. Snag a gradient kit and a full skein of a semi-solid and start singing yourself through this fun knit.
YARN
approximately 660 yds/603 m fingering-weight yarn. I used Stitch Together Studios Stitch Smooth Sock in a mini skein set (cA-cE; 460 yds/420 m total, split evenly between 5 colors) and 200 yds/183 m of Stitch Smooth Sock (cF) for the samples. Colors shown are: Dark Unicorn mini set & Blue Suede Shoes (gradient/blue sample); Dark Unicorn mini set & Permanent Mauve (gradient/pink sample); and Woozy Druzy and Wizards Robes (pink shawl with grey border).
The pattern as written uses a 5-color fingering-weight gradient set (460 yds total) plus approximately 200 yds of a contrasting fingering-weight yarn. It can be made with any full skein of fingering weight yarn in place of the gradient set, and is flexible, in that you don’t need a full 460 yds (keep in mind that if you use less yardage, you will, obviously, have a smaller shawl).
