This is a pattern for a stiffened crochet ornament. It is worked in 2 halves with one half having a larger opening so that when the ball is stiffened and dried over a 2” Styrofoam ball and then glued together the opening on the side can be slipped over a light bulb on a Christmas light string. They can also be used as individual ornaments adding decorative ribbon around the center joining and tying it at the top to hang.
