This pattern is available for free.

A very simple and easy asymmetrical shawl that is easy enough for a beginning knitter. It starts with 5 stitches and can be worked as large as you like. It is shown here as a fingering weight shawlette, but it could be made with any weight of yarn. See below.

The pattern calls for two skeins of Compatible Cashmere held together or at least 164 yards of any fingering weight yarn.

It is an easy two row pattern that is reversible and suitable for a beginning knitter.

Suggested needle sizes for other weights of yarn:
mohair + carry along sequin yarn: US 7 (4.5mm)
chunky mohair (Poema Alpaca or similar): US 10 (6mm)
sport to DK: US 6-7 (4-4.5mm)
worsted to Aran: US 8-9 (5-5.5mm)
bulky: US 10-10.5 (6-6.5mm)
Note: you will need more yardage for larger yarns. The exact amount will vary depending on the yarn weight (thickness) and the desired size of the shawl.
