Long Shadows Scarf
Jill Thompson Beach Collection | Fall 2023
Details
When the days get shorter and the shadows become longer… Long Shadows is inspired by those days of looking behind you and chasing the daylight for just a bit longer in hopes that the winter doesn’t come on too fast.
The Long Shadows Scarf is extra long - wrap it once, twice, probably three times around if you need some extra warmth. It also has optional tassels, because who doesn’t love a little pizazz?
Construction
This scarf is knit in the flat from the bottom edge to the top. Cables are worked at either end of the scarf with ribbing in the middle. Optional tassels can be added after the scarf is finished.
The cable patterns are both written and charted.

At times, the 10-stitch sections are worked in the Cable Panel (see Stitch Guide), and at other times the stitches in these sections are simply worked as they appear (knit the knits and purl the purls). The directions indicate where and when to place the cable panels.
The Cable Panel can be worked from the chart or from the row-by-row directions in the Stitch Guide.
