ABOUT THE PATTERN
Love Song is a triangular shawl that highlights two key techniques featured throughout this book: I-cord braids and beadwork motifs. The design is inspired by a phrase often heard in my home, as well as by the title of a song I have loved for many years, All You Need Is Love. The name carries a small twist, using knit instead of need, an idea that emerged during the testing process.

Yarn: Fingering-weight
Colour 1 (C1): approx. 50 g / 218 yds / 200 m. Suggested yarn: Artyarns Merino Cloud – 80% merino, 20% cashmere (437 yds / 400 m – 100 g). 1 skein, colour: 2380.
Colour 2 (C2): approx. 50 g / 218 yds / 200 m. Suggested yarn: Artyarns Merino Cloud – 80% merino, 20% cashmere (437 yds / 400 m – 100 g). 1 skein, colour: 1044.
Colour 3 (C3): approx. 20 g / 240 yds / 220 m. Suggested yarn: Artyarns Silk Mohair Glitter – 60% kid mohair, 40% silk (300 yds / 275 m – 25 g). 1 skein, colour: 2241.

Recommended beads: Delica 8/0, round 6/0, and square 3 mm or 4 mm.
Bead 1: Miyuki, square 4 mm. 222 units, colour: SB-478.
Bead 2: Miyuki, square 4 mm. 91 units, colour: SB-1013.

Needle and cable:
N1: US 5 / 3.75 mm circular needles, 16” / 40 cm and 32” / 80 cm long.

Notions
Crochet hook for beading US 12 – 0.60 mm, row counter (recommended), 4 stitches marker, tapestry needle.

Gaugue
23 sts x 30 rows = 4” / 10 cm. Measured in Stockinette stitch, worked flat with N1 and C1, after blocking.

Notes
This triangular shawl is worked from the top down, increasing four stitches every other row. Two I-Cord braids extend from the side edges toward the centre, and letter motifs are formed using beadwork. Refer to Special Techniques for the braid and bead methods
