A short light cardigan knit from bottom up in one piece in stockinette stitch. Just before the separation for the sleeves you change to 1/1 rib pattern and the smaller needle size which gives a slight A-shape to the cardigan. (The largest needlie is needed only for casting on.) The sleeves are knit flat and separately. The cardie is closed in the upper (ribbed) part with five small buttons. The buttonband is done as you go.
Instructions for a vest pattern without sleeves are given as well. The pattern is the adult version of the chiildren’s vest Gilet Lussac-les-châteaux.

Apart from yarn and needles you will need five small buttons and your preferred needle for seaming.
