Lux, Latin for light, is the sister pattern of the triangular Phos shawl. Both were designed for Gwen Erin Natural Fibers, and feature handspun yarn together with commercial yarn. The distinctive color patterns in each shawl are achieved through slipped stitch colorwork. Lux was originally designed to explore negative space using color and texture but as I was revising the shawl I was inspired by the diffusion of light from incandescent bulbs as well.

The yellow and green shawl as well as the copper and blue shawl use Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride worsted for the solid. The acid green and purple shawl uses Brown Sheep Shepard’s Shades.
