Sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) Finished bust circumference: 84 (94, 107, 117, 127) cm / 33 (37, 42½, 46, 50)” – to be worn with 5-15 cm / 2-6” positive ease
Model has 86.5 cm / 34” bust, stands 183 cm / 6’0” tall, and is wearing size 3.
Yarn: Briggs & Little Super (super bulky weight; 100% wool; 78 m / 85 yds per 113 g skein)
Shade A: Light grey (13); 9 (10, 11, 13, 14) skeins
Shade B: Dark grey (11); 5 (5, 6, 7, 7) skeins
Gauge: 12 sts & 20 rows = 10 cm / 4” over double moss stitch on 6 mm needles after blocking.
Needles: 6 mm / US 10 knitting needles
6 mm / US 10 crochet hook for crochet cast on Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.
Notions: Locking stitch marker, 6 snap buttons (21 mm) with sewing needle and matching thread
Notes: The coat has a combined raglan/saddle shoulder shaping. A total of nine pieces are knitted flat and then seamed: 2 front pieces, 2 back pieces, 2 sleeves, 2 pockets and 1 collar.
Every piece of the pattern uses the crochet cast on method to create a smooth transition between the cast on, sides and cast off edges of each piece. The loop on the crochet hook makes up the last stitch of the cast on stitch count and should be slipped onto the knitting needle.
