These simple fingerless mitts are the perfect accessory for wearing in the forest while searching for mushrooms!

A fast and fun knit, they can be made with any of your favourite fingering weight yarn. The main colour will only need 30 grams (just over 1 ounce) of yarn. The colourwork sections are small and uncomplicated. The mitts are knit in the round and have a thumb gusset.

These Mitts are in a women’s size medium.
Wrist circumference approx 16cms (just over 6 inches), knuckle circumference 19cms and total length 19cms (almost 7.5 inches).
Smaller or larger sizes can be obtained with smaller or larger needles/gauge or thinner or thicker yarn.

Yarn required
Any fingering weight 4ply yarn. Yarn for the green pair shown:

  • Main Colour Sweet Sparrow yarns House wren yarn in colour way Evergreen 100m/109yds 30g

  • Contrast Colour 1 Garnstudio Drops Fabel sock yarn in red 5g

  • Contrast Colour 2 Garnstudio Drops Fabel sock yarn in white 2g

This pattern is written using the magic loop circular needle method (but can be knit with dpns).
