Last summer I met Alexander Biscuits. He gave me a skein of his hand spun and encouraged me to knit with it and create a ‘man project’.
manmade came from it. I combined Alex’s bulky handspun with a commercial worsted weight MCN, and created these dense, heavy looking gauntlets.

The handspun is worked on a bigger needle than the worsted weight yarn, but still you increase the number of stitches for the handspun stripes to make them even bigger, bulkier, heavier.
The gauntlets are worked from the top down. The striping on the hand is worked flat to prevent the bulky stripes on the palm of the hand, and thereby make the gauntlets usable.

yarn and yardage:
MC: 124 m (135 yds) worsted weight
CC: 65 m (70 yds) bulky weight (handspun)
