Welcome to Month 3 of my dog breed hats. This month I am featuring Corgis! This breed has a special place in my heart as we currently have 5 living with us. They are all rescue dogs. Sadly, our state has very lax breeding laws so many of these dogs are kept for breeding in what could be considered deplorable conditions. We take the mama dogs when the breeders are finished using them and do our best to rehabilitate them. Most have never been house trained or socialized, a few have no idea of how to live outside of a small crate. It’s a challenge, but we love it! We also have some with defects that make them undesirable as show dogs. Alll of the rescues in a 200 mile radius know that if a difficult corgi comes in, my husband is the person to call.

As with the other hats, the directions for the hat construction is written and the colorwork section is charted only.

You might notice that in the pictures, my husband’s hat has the paws and bones border top and bottom. This was his special request. My original idea was just paws on this one (probably because I spend so much time mopping up paw prints around my home!)
