Martin the big teddy
A simple teddy bear, perfect for little ones, easily made using the amigurumi technique and a thick, fluffy yarn that’s perfect for toys. The pattern is really easy to follow and has few elements, making it a great project for amigurumi enthusiasts and beginners.
There is minimal sewing involved, as the legs, body and head are made in one piece. You only need to attach the arms, ears, muzzle and tail. Depending on the age of the recipient, add safety eyes, sew on buttons or embroider the eyes and nose.
Make it a large toy for older kids, using the recommended yarn, or have fun with other amigurumi yarns, making a smaller version for younger kids. The pattern uses around 1.5 skeins of the recommended yarn with the recommended hook.
The long arms are perfect for dragging around and the flat shape of the body make this bear perfect for hugging.
The pattern is available for free online and there may be a pdf available in the future, based on demand.
