Masterclass Sampler Blanket
A flexible sampler blanket pattern to boost your crochet and pattern reading skills
Crochet a sampler blanket with confidence. You will be following patterns for 10 different stitches and techniques to create a sampler blanket with a tulip border.
If you have started on your crochet journey, and patterns bemuse you, or if you are happy with the basics, but want to know more. I will be guiding you through the techniques and tips that I have picked up in a decade of crocheting that will make your crochet projects easier, quicker, and more enjoyable.
The patterns provided can make a great sampler blanket, and can be used in combination or on their own. Throughout the masterclass, you will also learn how to read a crochet pattern, starting with common words, though colour coding, extra line spacing and finally as commercial patterns are written.
The whole blanket is joined as you go so the only finishing is sewing in ends, which I recommend you do as you go along!
Level
Adventurous beginner to intermediate. You will need to have crocheted before, but only need the basic skills, making a chain, dc, tr - the pattern uses basic stitches, repetitive stitch patterns, simple colour changes, and finishing. The sections are written to make it easier to follow the patterns and there are photo tutorials throughout

General Pattern notes
- UK terms are used throughout.
- If you are a beginner, especially to pattern reading, there are different steps to help you to understand the pattern. In each section, in the pattern notes, there is an explanation of how you are helped to understand the pattern. There is also the conventional pattern for those with more experience.
- The sections increase in difficulty, so the first five are easier, and the second five more challenging.
