Merci Hoodie
Errata RLI, RLPI, LLI and LLPI were accidentally omitted from the glossary. Please see the errata for their instructions.
Merci is the classic hoodie with pockets. The basketweave pattern detail gives this sweater a little pizzazz, and it may be swapped out with any of the other multiple of 6 stitches + 2 stitch patterns in this chapter! It would look great in the lattice pattern worked on the Majestic Tie Cardigan or the honeycomb pattern used in the Sunshine Pullover, with garter stitch for the button band.
Knit up some swatches, testing out different edgings for the lower edge and button band, to see what you like the best. (Read more about edgings on page 16). If you’re not a pocket person, simply skip the row establishing the pocket, and jump ahead to the body, working 5 rows in stockinette stitch instead of 3. The Stockinette stitch body on this sweater lends to bust darts, too.
