Mettā
Knitting is meditation in motion. Or at least, this is how I see it. More often than not. Just like meditation, knitting trains me and teaches me, in a very direct way, how to cope with the inevitable difficulties of life, big and small. Over the years, they both have given me more resilience, more patience, more balance and strength.
I’d like to share this with you. And to bring it one step further with Mettā: unconditional loving-kindness. We all share the same human condition, wherever we come from and wherever we are headed to. In a symbolic way, the Mettā cowl merges different lace patterns, integrating them into a consistent whole, while being respectful of differences; cherishing the diversity and the enrichment it gives us.
Linen is a great option for a summer cowl and Quince & Co. Sparrow offers a beautiful range of colors on a certified organic fiber grown in Belgium. It’s crisp as you knit it and softens after you wash and wear it.
But of course, you can substitute yarn for wearing in colder climates and seasons.
