Midnight Monarch Cowl
CONSTRUCTION This double-lined, lace cowl is worked in the round from the top down. A picot edge is worked in the contrast colour for the top hem, followed by the main colour body of the cowl featuring a lace panel resembling a swarm of butterflies. The contrast colour is again used for the picot edge of the bottom hem. The liner is worked in reverse stockinette so that the stockinette shows through the lace (stockinette contains less shadows than reverse stockinette and so appears brighter); however, short rows are utilized so that this section can be worked with the wrong side facing, in stockinette. Once the cowl is bound off and blocked, the cast-on and bound-off edges are mattress seamed together.
