Pattern Notes:
-The set includes two number blocks which can be used to make any number from 0-32 with the 6 doubling as a 9. It also includes two word blocks- one with the singulars of all the units of time and one with the plurals.
-Leave long tails at cast ons and bind offs to be used for seaming during finishing.
-Foam can be purchased in 4” thick pieces and cut down into blocks with an electric carving knife. Measure and mark the foam with a permanent marker before cutting. Some foam comes in a green color that may show slightly through the knitted fabric. For a nice clean look, white felt can be used to cover the blocks first. This also helps even out any slightly rough spots from cutting the foam.
-The finished knitted pieces will measure slightly smaller than the blocks, but will stretch to fit snugly around the foam.
Customization Suggestions:
-For a higher number range, make extra number blocks. (More of C1 will be needed.)
-Make only one word block using the words, “week,” “weeks,” “month,” and “months.” (Less of C1 will be needed.)
-Only make the word block with plurals. (Less of C1 will be
needed.)
