A classic cardigan, Milo is worked seamlessly from the bottom up in a handsome combination of cables and reverse stockinette stitch. After knitting the pocket linings, the body is worked in one piece and sloped bind offs shape the shoulders. The modified dropped shoulder construction brings a better fit, with German short rows worked flat in the sleeve cap. Sleeves are then worked in the round with the cable continuing in the ribbed cuffs.

Milo is unisex and the only difference is the placement of the buttonhole band and the length of sleeves. For similar chest measurements, men often have longer arms than women, so the pattern includes sleeve shaping for both options. As the sleeves are worked from shoulder towards the cuffs, length of sleeve can be customised easily.

Shown in size 4 with 25cm/10” positive ease on male model (beige colour) and size 1 with 10cm/4” positive ease on female model (blue colour).

The yarn used for the men version is a very lofty and light fingering merino/possum yarn that knits like a 5 ply/sport or even a light 8 ply/DK yarn. The women sample is worked in a baby alpaca DK.

6 (6, 6, 7, 7)(7, 7, 7, 7) buttons of 25mm diameter.
