This is a brilliant first amigurumi pattern. The pattern has a photo tutorial that guides you through the magic ring, invisible decrease, attaching flat shapes, marking rounds, and how to finish off. There are two versions, with 17 or 21 rounds.

You can make this monster in any thickness of yarn. Chunky is great to start as you can see all the stitches, but DK works well to fit into a young child’s hand.

You can customise this monster easily - the basic pattern has alternative rounds to add feet, skirt, arms, ears or antennae, and you can make a white circle for the eye/s or leave them without.

In chunky yarn the monster is approx. 11cm tall and 7cm wide, in DK 7cm tall and 4.5cm wide.

Use a hook that is smaller than recommended on your yarn. for a chunky 5mm and for DK 3.5mm

You will need only small amounts of yarn - 20-30g of Chunky, 10-15g of DK, small amount of toy stuffing and safety eyes, 15mm look good on Chunky yarn and 9mm for DK. I like to use a variegated yarn to make the monsters even more individual!
