“Miss Dashwood” is a second shawl in a series of “Jane Austen Heroines”. It is a timeless and feminine piece with intricate design.

“Miss Dashwood” has a lovely wide border knitted sideways with lace panel, twisted stitches and tiny crochet bobbles for textural interest. Body of shawl is worked in textured pattern from the bottom up using short rows to give it a crescent shape.

This shawl can be knitted in different yarn weights to different effects. The beige sample shown in “Skein” Merino Silk Sport (332m/100g) in “Barley” uses 1.7 skeins (570m/620 yards) and is perfect for warmer weather.
The second sample in DK wight is shown in Classic Elite Yarns “Magnolia” (100m/50g) in “Blue Iris” ( 5 skeins) and is perfect for cooler weather.

The sizes of both are about 65”/20” and can be adjusted easily (instructions given).
The design has been created for intermediate and advanced knitters. One should be familiar with short rows, patterning on both sides of lace and with very basic crochet technique.

Instructions are written and lace border also charted.

“Miss Dashwood” can also lends itself to beading, substitute bobbles with beads or add them to the edging for a more glamorous piece.
The shawl is sure to make the wearer stand out in the crowd!
