All the interest here is in the embroidered border. The stitch pattern is fun to do, though rather demanding. I had assumed, as I was knitting, that I’d fill the spaces in the center grid of the pattern, but when I tried it, it looked awful. Changing stitches or colors didn’t help. Finally I tried embroidering the wraps that made the grid. It made all the difference.
