Cables particularly capture the allure of circular yokes. Their relief pattern adds texture and depth to the yoke. The beautifully ornate yoke on this sweater draws attention to the head and shoulders like a framed portrait. In this frame, the cable lines curve in and out and around each other as the circle grows outward like a flower blooming. This pullover is named after William Morris because the cable motifs are reminiscent of his beautiful interlacing leaves and flowers. The motifs are based on cables from Norah Gaughan’s Knitted Cable Sourcebook.

16” (40 cm) circular needle (cir); 32” (80 cm) cir; preferred needle for working small cir- cumferences (double-pointed, cir for Magic Loop, etc.).
