This stylish beret and scarf are knitted in an easy garter stitch and decorated with a simple yet stunning optional bead pattern.
Knitted in 4 ply wool, the pattern contains instructions for both the beret and scarf and a graph for bead placement.
The beret is knitted in the round and the scarf flat. Both pieces were made from one skein - 100g - of yarn

For the sample I used Fibre Co. Cumbria fingering weight, but any 4ply/fingering should work.

Any beads will work as long as they can be threaded onto 4ply/fingering yarn. I find size 8 or size 6 seed beads work well . For the samples I have used a mix of beads, some size 8, some size 6 and some larger. These were a mix of beads I already had and beads from necklaces bought in charity shops. I think it is the mix of sizes and colours that works well – especially on a muted background yarn colour.
