Often my socks start as a vague idea: “Well, I know I want to include some lace. And some texture. And I want to do something fun with the cuff.”

So then I start playing with yarn. I knit the cuff, and rip it back, multiple times, trying different things. Eventually I decide on the double rolled cuff in two colors. Perfect!

But wait, there’s more! Since I know the double rolled cuff may not be everyone’s cup of tea, I also included a textured cuff option (see picture on page 2).

My sample socks are knit in size medium, with a 2.75” (about 7cm) cuff+leg length, and a 9” (23cm) foot length. The length of the leg is easy to adjust to your preference, by knitting more or fewer repeats before starting the heel. Please note that knitting a size large may use every bit of the 50g of MC, and significantly increasing the leg or foot length of any size may require more than 50g of MC. (I had 7g leftover of the lavender out of a 50g ball.)

Sizes: Small (Medium, Large) to fit 7-7.5 (8-8.5, 9-9.5)” or about 18-19 (20-22, 23-24) cm circumferences

Yarn:
MC: 50g (231 yds / 211 m) fingering weight yarn
CC: 20g (93 yds / 85 m) fingering weight yarn

Needles: US size 1 / 2.25mm. The rolled cuff will need a second needle in the same size.

Notions: Stitch markers, tapestry needle

Gauge: 34 stitches and 47 rows to 4” (10cm) worked in stockinette stitch in the round.
