Nadal es “Navidad” en asturiano. Este es un calcetín navideño para colgar de la chimenea o de la cama y que te lo llenen de las cosas que más te gustan estas fiestas!

Se hace prácticamente igual que un calcetín normal pero he hecho la puntera más redondeada y el calcetín un poco más corto y gordo (para que entren más regalos!). Tiene un talón de vueltas cortas muy sencillo.

Tiene motivos de Fair Isle (punto Jacquard) muy sencillos y con una secuencia fácil de memorizar. Un proyecto perfecto para practicar las técnicas de hacer calcetines y Fair Isle.

MATERIALES
• agujas circulares de 4,5mm (US7) y una longitud de al menos 80 cm para la puntera y 40cm para el resto
• Marcador tipo imperdible
• Aguja lanera

LANA
Lana de grosor Aran de 2 colores
• Color principal (CP): 85g (130m/140yd). Yo usé Drops Nepal, color: Red (rojo)
• Color de contraste (CC): 50g (75m/82yd). Yo usé Drops Nepal, color: White (blanco)

DIMENSIONES
Después de bloquear, 34cm de largo (del talón hasta arriba del todo), 17cm de ancho en la caña.

Aunque en el patrón sugiero lana de grosor Aran, podrías hacerlo con otro grosor. Simplemente te quedaría un calcetín más grande o pequeño (ver dimensiones más arriba).

Nadal is “Christmas” in the dialect from my region of Spain.This is a Christmas stocking to hang from your fireplace or the end of your bed and hope it’ll be filled with all sorts of knitty goodies!

The construction is practically the same as a standard sock but with a more rounded toe. It’s also shorter and fatter (so you can fit more presents in!) and it has a simple short row heel. It also has some Fair Isle motives that follow an easily-memorised sequence. An ideal project to practice sock and Fair Isle techniques.

MATERIALS
• 4.5mm (US7) circular needles, at least 80 cm (32”) long for the toe and 40cm (16”) long for the rest
• Removable marker
• Tapestry needle

YARN
Aran-weight yarn in two colours
• Main colour (MC): 85g (130m/140yd). I used Drops Nepal, colour Red
• Contrasting colour (CC): 50g (75m/82yd). I used Drops Nepal, colour White

DIMENSIONS
After blocking, 34cm/13” long (from the heel to the cuff), 17cm/6.5” wide (leg).

Although the pattern suggests Aran-weight yarn, you could follow the same instructions with a different weight and you’ll just end up with a smaller or bigger stocking (see dimensions above).
