Néalta
{nell-tah} Irish: clouds
Ispired by the movement of clouds over a wind-swept landscape, Néalta is an elongated crescent shawl. Worked in garter stitch with staggered lace clusters and a fluttery edge, it can be worn traditionally or styled as a scarf.
If worked in a fingering-weight yarn, Néalta is a single-skein project. It is a two-skein project in DK weight yarn. Instructions for adding optional extra repeats are provided for those who prefer a larger shawl.
This is an updated version of the pattern, which includes instructions for a DK weight version in addition to the original fingering-weight version. The pattern was originally published in May 2018, and revised in March 2020.
