Nellie and her twin brother, Tucker, are river otter pups that were born at the Oregon Zoo last spring. Young river otters are known to rely on play to learn survival skills. The different sections of the cowl represent Nellie playing in the Nehalem River, (her namesake), casting waves and chasing her brother through the sun-dappled water.

solstice luna sock, 80% Superwash Merino, 10% cashmere, 10% nylon, 430 yards/115g, (3) skeins, one each colorway: Main Color: The Dark Menace (430 yards), Color B Oliver Twist (150 yards), Color C Frost (100 yards) or a total of 680 yards of any fingering weight yarn.
