”Nerven” (Danish for ”the nerve”) is specifically designed for my fantastic friend, Malene, who has been living with multiple sclerosis for more than 27 years. She has slowly godten worse and is today totally dependent on her wheelchair. Even so she still feels lucky as the sickness mostly affects her legs, and thus she is still able to live an active life with work and multiple hobbies.

Sclerose is the subject of a lot of research in the hope of developing better medicine and possibly a cure. The Danish Multiple Sclerosis Society finances a large portion of the research in multiple sclerosis in Denmark and also supports international research – and fundraising plays a large part in this. One yearly event is “Cykelnerven”, where bike enthusiast ride the iconic Tour de France mountains to raise money for research in multiple sclerosis.

This is where ”Nerven” plays a part. For every sale of this pattern, I will donate 15 kr. to Cykelnerven – or directly to the Danish Multiple Sclerosis Society. Therefore I would like to thank you for your support for the good cause.

”Nerven” is knit sideways from one tip to the other. The contrasting waves are shaped with short rows throughout each half, and the middle section is also shaped with short rows. The colours change halfway, which mirrors the colours.

The pattern is available in English, French, German, Swedish and Danish.
