On the heels of my other Doctor Who inspired sock patterns (Rescue Me, Chin Boy, and Show Me the Stars, Socks For Ten, Spoilers Socks, Come Along Pond Socks, + Soufflé Girl Socks), I am super excited to have collaborated with Julia of Pandia’s Jewels on the 2nd edition of the Doctor Who Companions Sock Club. The first pattern is inspired by the 1st New Who companion, Rose Tyler.
These socks begin with four roses just above the toe. The main design element is the Time Travelling cable pattern which has simple spots that remind us of Rose’s fun times in the TARDIS and more difficult spots that remind us of the tough times Rose faced.
“The Doctor showed me a better way of living your life…You don’t just give up. You don’t just let things happen. You make a stand. You say “no.” You have the guts to do what’s right when everyone else just runs away.“
Nice to meet you, Rose. Run for your life! Happy Knitting!

These socks are knit using the magic loop method (although the purchaser could easily adapt it for two circulars or double points).
Judy’s Magic Cast On and Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off are used in this pattern.
The knitter needs to be comfortable with the following techniques: knit, purl, ktbl, k2tog, k3tog, YO, sl1-k2tog-psso, ssk, M1R, M1L, cables, and w+t’s (short rows). Instructions for all these techniques are included in the pattern.
This pattern includes instructions in both written and chart forms for 56 stitch, 64 stitch, and 72 stitch socks.
I’d like to express my immense gratitude to the creators of Doctor Who for their entertaining work. This design would never have been possible without their inspiration.
Huge thanks to my amazing test knitters: Barb (outallday), Cristy (cristyray), and Tracy (phoenixfire). ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
