Nihal is a majestic knit that requires patience and attention, but pays off with an elegant and precious result. Entirely worked in a twist stitch pattern that rhythms the work and reaches its apex in the final section, it is a minimalist and refined, but easy to wear accessory. Also thanks to its elongated shape and considerable size.

It is worked sideways from the tip to the bottom edge in a single piece, and finished with an I-cord edge worked at the same time and used for binding off.

Measurement after blocking: 200 cm / 78.75” wingspan x 66 cm / 26” depth.

Gauge: 22 sts x 27 rows = 10 cm / 4” in 1x3 twist rib pattern (as described in Section 1) using 3.5 mm (US 4) needles.

Yarn: 1100 metres / 1200 yards (3 skeins of 366 metres / 400 yards each) of fingering yarn.
Please consider that almost the full skeins have been used up to knit the sample.

Yarn used for the sample: Positive Ease Merino Single, 100% Merino Superwash, 366 metres (400 yards) /100 gr, color Habitat.

Needles: 60 cm / 24” circular needle size 3.5 mm (US 4) or straight needles; same size cable needle (optional, the crossed stitches can be easily worked without cable needle, see notes for help).

Notions: markers (optional), tapestry needle

Nihal è un progetto maestoso che richiede pazienza ed attenzione, ma ripaga con un risultato finale senza precedenti!
Interamente lavorato con un motivo a maglia ritorta che ritma il lavoro e raggiunge il suo apice nella sezione finale dove il motivo si arricchisce ulteriormente di un intricato intreccio, Nihal è uno scialle elegante e raffinato, ma portabilissimo, anche grazie alle misure considerevoli e alla forma allungata.

E’ lavorato trasversalmente dalla punta al bordo finale in un pezzo unico ed arricchito da una chiusura I-cord che continua il bordo laterale senza interruzioni.

Misure dopo il bloccaggio: 200 cm apertura x 66 cm profondità.
Campione: 22 m x 27 ferri = 10 cm / 4” lavorato con il punto a coste ritorte 1 x 3 (come descritto
nella Sezione 1) e con i ferri n. 3.5 mm (US 4).

Filato: 1100 metri / 1200 yards (3 matasse da 366 metri / 400 yards ciascuna) di filato peso fingering.
Filato utilizzato per il campione: Positive Ease Merino Single, 100% Merino Superwash, 366 metri (400 yards) /100 gr, colore Habitat.
Si prega di considerare che le matasse sono state utilizzate quasi per intero per lavorare lo scialle.
