No Attention Span
I designed this hat years ago as a pattern to keep your attention with it’s constantly changing rows that aren’t overly complicated…and then it somehow now longer held my attention when it came time to publish and I promptly forgot about it. So now I’m finally getting around to publishing it after a test knitter from all those years ago reached out to ask what ever happened.
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner.
Finished Sizes: 15” (21”) around, 9” (11”) tall. Child (Adult)
Yarn: 60-75 g of DK weight yarn
Needles: US4 (3.5 mm) 16” circular needles and US6 (4.0) 16” circular needles and dpns or size needed to obtain gauge.
Notions: Darning needle for sewing in ends.
Gauge: 22 sts x 28 rows = 4” (10 cm) in patterns A, B and C on larger needles.
Stitches Used: Knit, purl, ssk, p2tog, ktbl.
NOTES
The overall height of this hat is easily adaptable to make it more or less slouchy. A full repeat of Pattern A will have the smallest effect on the overall height, approximately .5” (1 cm). A full repeat of Pattern B is close 1” (2 cm) difference. A full repeat of Pattern C is about 1.5” (4 cm) difference.
