Nonno
Nonno (dedicated to my “Nonno” Eugen - his cardigans were legendary :)
is worked seamlessly from the top down.
A beautiful, easy and fun slip stitch stripe pattern adds interest and makes knitting this cardigan a fun experience (and maybe helps stash busting?).
Knitting starts with the cast-on of the shoulders for the back. Once the short row shaped shoulder slopes are done, the back is worked flat to underarm. Shoulder stitches are picked up to work both fronts to the same length. At underarm both fronts and back are joined to work the body top down back and forth to the bottom hem. A provisional cast-on for the pocket openings allows for seamless built-in pockets. The button band is worked next. Sleeve stitches are picked up around the arm openings to work the sleeves top down in rounds to the cuffs. Pocket linings are worked last.
